Rudi Garcia has praised Bayern Munich’s Pep Guardiola, but admits Roma have studied the Germans’ Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.

Guardiola moved to Bayern last season after a successful spell with Barcelona, and led them to the League title.

Ahead of facing the Spaniard tomorrow evening, Garcia has paid tribute.

“He’s one of the best,” the 50-year-old Roma Coach has told today’s pre-match Press conference.

“He did great things with Barcelona and the decision to go to Bayern Munich was a brave one.

“He showed last year that Barcelona did not only win because of the great players they had on the field, but also because of his coaching.”

Despite winning the League, Bayern Munich were humiliated 5-0 on aggregate by Real Madrid in last year’s Champions League semi-finals, and Garcia admits Roma will try to learn the lessons of Madrid’s victory.

“We’ve watched a lot of Bayern’s games, both in the League and the Champions League, including the Real Madrid game.

“It’s the little details that make the difference, it’s about how you adapt to your opponent.

“My players are intelligent, but you must always have a Plan B in case something goes wrong.

“Our game must always be about having fun on the pitch, and nothing will change tomorrow.

“We need to be smart on the pitch and see how things go, but that should be our attitude.”
