Roma boss Rudi Garcia is delighted the club were able to sign Gervinho from Arsenal during the summer.
The Ivory Coast international was requested by the tactician given their time together in the past at Lille.
“Gervinho is a rare player,” the Frenchman told La Voix Du Nord. “He is a great attacker who knows when to take risks.
“At the start he wasn’t liked in Italy, but the opinions about him have now changed.”
The forward had his problems in the Premier League, but he has impressed with three goals in nine Serie A games so far this term.
“I would have wanted to bring more players from Lille with me to Roma,” added the Coach. “For example, I would have liked Rio Mavuba had Daniele De Rossi left us.
“However, I think Roma had an excellent summer transfer session.”
