The centre-back, now 38, played for Bologna, Hellas Verona, Fiorentina, Napoli, Genoa and Chievo before retiring in 2018.
“In the past, I was courted by some very competitive clubs, such as Inter and Mourinho’s Chelsea,” Gamberini told Radio Bruno.

“In the past, I was courted by some very competitive clubs, such as Inter and Mourinho’s Chelsea,” Gamberini told Radio Bruno.
“If I hadn’t renewed my contract with Fiorentina, I probably would’ve joined one of those teams.”
The defender wore the Viola jersey from 2005 to 2012.
