Milan CEO Adriano Galliani said Fernando Torres shouldn’t leave in January, “but the market is unpredictable.”

There have been growing reports the striker will be sent away just six months into a two-year loan from Chelsea.

“Will he leave in January? I don’t think so, but the market is unpredictable,” Galliani told Sky Sport Italia.

“We need to have patience. The lad was unlucky and needs to settle into our football.”

Torres is not even on the bench for tonight’s clash with Napoli at San Siro, as he is suffering from flu symptoms.

“This is an important match between two teams who are fighting for third place along with Lazio, Fiorentina and the two Genoese clubs.”

This week President Silvio Berlusconi declared Milan could take third, but Coach Pippo Inzaghi replied that was unlikely to happen this season.

“Berlusconi and Inzaghi have the same ideas, but with different shades of grey. We absolutely must fight for the Champions League, as the economic difference between that and the Europa League is more evident all the time. Third place is completely different.”
