Monza director Adriano Galliani notes that the Super League ‘already exists and it’s called Premer League.’

The former Milan CEO spoke to DAZN on Monday after a charity event organised in Milan to support Ukraine and attended by the Rossoneri legend Andriy Shevchenko.

“The Super League already exists and it’s called Premier League,” said Galliani who was asked about the January window and the gap between the top five European leagues.

“It’s an irreversible process, I’ve been in football long enough to know that revenues are strictly linked with victories.”

Galliani’s Monza have only lost one game in 2023, last week against Milan, and the 78-year-old went on to praise his coach Raffaele Palladino who was hired in September.

“He was the right choice because he has changed the mentality and has motivated the team.”

Galliani also revealed that he congratulated Stefano Pioli on winning the Coach Of The Year and said that the Champions League won in 1989, the first one of the Berlusconi era at Milan is the best memory of his time at the club.

Milan won 29 trophies during Berlusconi’s 31-year ownership, including five Champions League and eight Serie A titles. The former Italy PM sold the club in 2017 to Chinese entrepreneur Li Yonghong who kept the club for one season before Elliott Management’s takeover.
