Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani says there is absolutely no chance of Marco Borriello returning to the club in light of injuries to Alexandre Pato and Pippo Inzaghi.

Borriello is currently on loan at Roma until the end of the season, although part of the deal stipulates that the capital outfit are obliged to buy him once the deal expires.

That means the 28-year-old is a Roma player in all but name, ruling out any possible return to San Siro.

"It's impossible," Galliani said. "He has been sold to Roma. There is no chance.

"Anyway, why should we need someone to come in? Pato will be back in January."

Galliani also took the chance to play down his meeting with Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli after the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday.

"I was dining in the same restaurant as Balotelli was and being a nice person I stopped for a little while to chat with him. That's all. It was a casual meeting."
