The Rossoneri’s joint-CEO is being investigated for allegedly buying the defender from the Ducali at a cut-price, contributing to their bankruptcy, something Milan deny.

“I should keep quiet, because the lawyers have told me to shut up,” Galliani said in an interview with Gazzetta di Parma.

“But if we hadn’t bough Paletta, the player could have terminated his contract, or we could have taken him four months later when he’d have been a free agent anyway.

“I should also point out that Paletta gave up seven months of salary when joining us, and also his agent made some sacrifices.

“Milan were the only club at that time who gave Parma money, yet we’re under investigation for fraudulent bankruptcy. It seems a bit weird to me.

“Was I aware of Parma’s situation? I’ve explained how things went, I don’t want to comment further.”
