Former Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has claimed the Rossoneri would have not sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva in 2012 if they had won the Serie A title that season: ‘Because of Muntari’s goal.’
Milan lost the 2011-12 Serie A title to Juventus and had a Sulley Muntari’s goal disallowed in a San Siro clash against the Old Lady despite the ball had crossed the line. There was no goal-line technology at that time.
“It should have been allowed and we would have won the title that season,” Galliani told Libero.

“It should have been allowed and we would have won the title that season,” Galliani told Libero.
“History would have changed. We sold Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva at the end of that season, two champions who are still playing at the highest levels.
“If things would have gone differently, they may still be Milan players and we could have signed Carlitos Tevez as well who, instead, signed for Juventus. With him we would have won three Serie A titles in a row.”
The other big regret of the former Milan director is the 2005 Champions League final lost against Liverpool with the Reds that recovered from three goals down.
“It was an incredible game, we dominated it apart from those six minutes that would have been useless if an Andriy Shevchenko’s goal wouldn’t be disallowed for an inexistent offside.
“It can happen, Istanbul is the second big regret that I have even if we won the cup two years later. Liverpool would deserve to win that won but we won it with goals of Pippo Inzaghi.”
Galliani, however, believes the Rossoneri shouldn’t have sold Andrea Pirlo.
“He is a predestined. When I saw him this summer he was the coach of Juventus U23 squad and I told him he would become the head coach soon. Three days later he was appointed. We let him leave to early, but I have other bigger regrets.”
