Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani believes his side aren't favourites for the Scudetto, but feels they are worthy of winning it this season.

The Rossoneri look to have closed the gap with Inter in Serie A and currently lie second in the standings ahead of Sunday's Derby della Madonnina.

Speaking at the Giacinto Facchetti awards ceremony, Galliani said: "We have made a team that can fight with more strengths, a team worthy of the Scudetto, that's all.

"It doesn't mean that we feel like first place.

"We scored three goals against Bari and created a lot, even if we missed some goals."

Galliani also played down speculation that there could be discontent at Milan if stars like Ronaldinho continue to be left out.

"The other day we had four champions on the bench, but the players who play in a big club know that while there are advantages because you can win a lot, there are also disadvantages because there are many great players and the competition is strong."

When asked to reveal whether Ronaldinho is upset, he said: "A few days ago I saw a sad Mario Yepes and I said to him: 'Mario, don't worry, what hasn't happened can happen in a minute'. It just so happened that soon afterwards he played an entire game."
