Milan’s joint-CEO Adriano Galliani says fans should be ‘forever grateful’ to President Silvio Berlusconi.

The Rossoneri have been subjected to fan protests in their last two home games, with supporters unhappy at the direction the club is being taken in.

“I think the Milan fans should be forever grateful to Silvio Berlusconi,” Galliani told reporters outside an event in the city.

“He’s won eight Scudetti and five Champions Leagues. The decisions the President makes are made for the sake of Milan.”

The director also gave backing to Coach Filippo Inzaghi, and dodged a question about Sinisa Mihajlovic.

“Pippo has a contract for next year to remain as our Coach, and if he does well from now until the end of the season he’ll be our Coach next year too.

“We need to have a good finish to the League campaign where we had a lot of problems in January and February.

“Seven points [from the European places] is a lot, but we have to believe as long as it’s mathematically possible.

Sampdoria at the weekend? Let’s just say I’ve seen us play better.

“Do I like Mihajlovic? I prefer women…”
