Milan CEO Adriano Galliani insists Jeremy Menez is not a ‘False Nine’ after replacing Fernando Torres.

The Frenchman was picked in a trident with Stephan El Shaarawy and Keisuke Honda for today’s game with Udinese.

“Enough of this story that Menez is a False Nine. He’s a Nine and that’s it, as even at PSG he played as a centre-forward,” Galliani told Sky Sport Italia.

“He is a striker, just like Pazzini and Torres.”

The Rossoneri had a great start to the season, but have gone off the boil with four draws and a defeat in their last five.

“We picked up 14 points in the first seven rounds, an average worthy of a Champions League spot, and four points in the last five games. It is an analysis we are conducting too, as we don’t know why the results have been so different.

“We must try to notch up a series of positive results.”
