Adriano Galliani believes it is impossible for Serie A to create an NBA-style bubble and praises Serie A leaders AC Milan: 'Even if nobody speaks about it.'

“Milan have been on top of the Serie A table for the last 16 matchdays,  I don’t think I read it in any newspaper,” Galliani told Radio 2 on Sunday.

“After the lockdown there were twelve games and Milan finished that round of games on top of the table. Now they’ve won every game in Italy and Europe.”

“I don’t know what will happen in the future. I am only noticing that Milan have been the Serie A leaders for the last 16 matchdays and I find it strange that none comments on that".

"Ten years ago we won the last derby away at Inter and there we had Ibra as well.

“We won 1-0 and I remember a penalty caused by foul of [Marco] Materazzi. It was identical to that one committed yesterday by [Aleksandar] Kolarov. [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic is extraordinary".

“I am an huge fan of Milan but speaking as a sportsman, it may have been different for Inter with the likes of Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni.

“Ibrahimovic would have eight goals and not four if he had played the other two games. This is a lottery, we all have to live with Covid".

The former Milan Director, now serving as Monza CEO, insisted Serie A can’t create an NBA-syle bubble.

“It’s hard to do more than what we are doing. Whatever thing you do, you are wrong because the theme is too complex.

“The bubble went well for the NBA in a very limited period, but how do you keep players in a bubble for nine months? Until the vaccine arrives, this virus will haunt us.

“More than that, doctors need to know where the outbreaks are coming from. I am afraid when players go out, but I do not want to say anything not to arouse controversy. I think Lega and FIGC can’t do more than this."
