Lucas Torreira signed a four-year contract with Galatasaray after leaving Arsenal in the summer but he’s still reportedly desperate to return to Fiorentina.

The 26-year-old Uruguayan midfielder spent last season on loan with the Viola but couldn’t make the move permanent after the Italian side failed to agree an acceptable deal with Arsenal, leaving him in limbo. In early August Torreira joined Galatasaray in a deal worth around €6m, but he hasn’t forgotten about the Tuscany capital.

As highlighted by ViolaNews.com, Torreira recently purchased a house in Florence and is still keen to make a return to Fiorentina at some point soon, seeing Galatasaray as more of a stepping stone. No negotiations have been opened between the two clubs but things could heat up in the coming months.

The Uruguayan midfielder made 35 appearances across all competitions for Fiorentina last season, scoring five goals and providing two assists in that time.
