According to Sportitalia, Galatasaray are ready to release Italy international Nicolò Zaniolo to Aston Villa on loan with option to buy for a total €31m and he could fly out tomorrow.

The Turkish side is believed to have opened up to an agreement that would see them pocket €4m for the one-season loan spell.

Villa would have an option to make the move permanent for a further €20m plus €7m in various add-ons that are easy to activate.

If confirmed, those bring the total value of the transfer to €31m, close to the €35m release clause in his contract.

Zaniolo left Roma for Galatasaray in February 2023 at a cost of €15m plus €10m in performance-related bonuses, while the Italians also retained a 20 per cent cut of the sell-on fee.

Juventus had been eager to bring Zaniolo back to Serie A this summer, but could not make other sales work in order to free up room for the 24-year-old.

Zaniolo had originally rejected a switch to the Premier League for Bournemouth in January, when he was determined to walk away from the Stadio Olimpico.
