Okan Buruk confirmed Galatasaray’s interest in free agent Andrea Belotti but underlined the difficulty in securing the Italian forward’s signature.

The 28-year-old striker left Torino last month after his contract expired, ending an impressive seven-year spell in Turin. Belotti scored 113 goals in 251 games for the Granata and now he’s ready for the next step of his career. Roma have long been interested in the Italian forward, but first need to re-home Eldor Shomurodov.

Speaking via Fanatik.com.tr, Buruk confirmed the reports that Galatasaray are looking to sign Belotti this summer.

“Belotti is one of our targets, but it’s not easy because he would like to stay in Italy.”

The Turkish side already picked up ex-Serie A regulars Dries Mertens and Lucas Torreira this summer, and now they’re still hoping to add Belotti to their squad as well.

The 28-year-old Italian forward is seemingly keen on joining Jose Mourinho’s project at Roma and he’s been waiting to complete his move to the club for a while now.
