Galatasaray are said to be interested in Italy international Stephan El Shaarawy, who is down to the final year of his Roma contract.

According to Teleradiostereo, the Turkish club has made an approach to request information, although El Shaarawy is not necessarily their first choice for the role.

The Little Pharaoh is only tied to the Stadio Olimpico until June 2023 and will turn 30 in October.

He made 36 competitive appearances for the Giallorossi this season, scoring seven goals and providing one assist.

However, the attacking winger only started 12 of those matches.

It would certainly not be his first foray outside of Italian soil, as El Shaarawy already played for AS Monaco in France and Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.

Italian football seems to be very fashionable in Turkey right now, as they have several players and coaches in the Super Lig, including Andrea Pirlo, Mario Balotelli, Vincenzo Montella, Emiliano Viviano and Fabio Borini.
