Romelu Lukaku is struggling badly for form since his return to Inter from Chelsea, but Fabio Galante reveals the Belgian ‘is confident he’ll get back to his true level.’

The striker was sold to Chelsea for €113m in the summer of 2021 and has never quite been able to replicate the form shown under Antonio Conte when winning the Serie A title.

A comeback at San Siro failed to deliver the required spark too, especially as he has been dealing with repeated muscular and now knee inflammation problems that also affected his World Cup performances for Belgium in Qatar.

“I spoke to Lukaku yesterday and he is really eager to prove how good he is,” former Inter defender Galante told Tuttomercatoweb.

“He is confident he’ll get back to his true level.”

So far this season, Lukaku has made only seven appearances in the Inter jersey between Serie A and the Champions League, contributing two goals and an assist.

His poor form means that the Nerazzurri are reportedly reconsidering their attempts to extend the loan for next season or even make his return to Italy a permanent one, so could send him back to Chelsea at the end of this campaign.
