Gagliardini: ‘Comparisons fine by me’

Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini says comparisons to Steven Gerrard and Marco Tardelli “don’t scare me”.

The 22-year-old joined the Nerazzurri from Atalanta, and was thrown straight into the team for the first two matches for which he was available.

“Getting to a club like Inter and then already winning two games is something important,” Gagliardini acknowledged, speaking to Premium Sport.

“I haven’t stopped to think about it, I just keep looking forward. We’re already thinking about the Palermo game, I don’t like to dwell on the emotions I’ve felt.

“The new Tardelli? The new Gerrard? These compliments don’t scare me. I’m someone who reads and listens and yes, these compliments are pleasing.

“I don’t attach too much importance to them though, I need to be calm, comfortable and think about my game.”
