Fiorentina are talking to Nacional de Montevideo midfielder Gabriel Neves, confirmed the Uruguay international’s agent.
He turns 24 next month and has one senior cap under his belt for his country.
“Fiorentina have made an approach, there’s the possibility to continue the negotiation, but we are talking now,” agent Gerardo Arias told Sport890.
“Neves was targeted by several clubs in Spain, Mexico and now also Italy. We’ll try to reach an agreement by the end of August.”
His contract runs to December 2022 and he is a product of the Nacional youth academy.
It’s reported the Viola are aiming to get Neves on loan with option to buy, which becomes an obligation after a certain number of appearances for the club.
