After Arsenal began negotiations with Manchester City for Gabriel Jesus, it’s reported Juventus are instead turning to Inter veteran Edin Dzeko.

The Bianconeri are seeking a new striker this summer to join Dusan Vlahovic, who arrived in January from Fiorentina, as Paulo Dybala has been released as a free agent and Alvaro Morata could return to Atletico Madrid after a two-year loan.

Gabriel Jesus was the first choice, but not at the €55m asking price, especially after the Telegraph reported this evening that Arsenal were prepared to pay that figure to Manchester City and entered negotiations.

At the same time, Sport Mediaset suggest that Juve are turning towards one of their old targets going back several years, Bosnia and Herzegovina international Dzeko.

The centre-forward is on the way out of Inter to make way for Romelu Lukaku and Dybala, so would be a reliable back-up to Vlahovic.

Juve have been linked with 36-year-old Dzeko many times over the past few years and he had a good campaign, scoring 17 goals with 10 assists in 49 competitive matches.

10 thought on “Gabriel Jesus towards Arsenal, so Juventus turn to Dzeko”
  1. An old target targeted for years for an antique relic coach. Clever move by Juve to wait until he was 36 years young, and to pay Inter a fee. Moggi would be proud. PhD Max will be dancing to the new back, back, down, down moves that Tik Tok McKennie has taught him in the dressing room. So Inter get Juve’s most skilled player and in his prime (28), despite the injuries. FOC and not one cent needed to go to Juve. Don Beppe is a genius for putting that Icardi anti Juve clause in. Juve once had Moggi but now a Laramie guy. Lukaku the one trick pony, but beast in a lower level league is still in his prime. At 36 years young, PhD Max will make sure to ask his pay masters for Dzeko to get a 5 year contract worth $14M a season.

  2. This must be a joke. Right? If Juve sign this 36 year player who is slow and way past his prime next year will look real grim.

  3. After Iaquinta, Amauri and Fabio Borini declined Juve offers, they turn to Dzeko.

Next up is Christian Poulsen for midfield.

    Power shift in Italy completed.

  4. @LORD everything you said last year is coming true. You are a wise man my friend and all the haters are now hating on Juve and Allegri.

They only support the team when they are winning. There is no vision with them anymore. You are right. Moggi would never have allowed Dybala to leave for Inter and for nada. Marotta would have put an anti Inter clause in his contract.

  5. Di Maria 34, Suarez 35, Arnautovic 33 and now Dzeko 36. Probably just rumours but as a fan of Italian football it makes you sad to see a club of Juve´s size being linked with these players. The primary mission was to get rid of Dybala, the only creative player in the starting 11. But now what, what is happening? Is there any long-term plans from the people running the club? The busparking lord said he wanted “experienced winners” but this is insane!
