Sampdoria forward Manolo Gabbiadini said he wants his Italy call-up against Albania to be “only the beginning.”
The 22-year-old impressed at club level this season and earned a place in the squad for Tuesday’s friendly, which will be played at Marassi.
“Naturally I am very happy, as it is a great honour to be called to represent your country,” Gabbiadini told PlayerManagement.eu.
“This represents only the beginning for me, as it means I have done well in Serie A, but I want to keep doing better and better, showing what I can do if I am called upon on Tuesday.
“I thank Sampdoria and am happy to wear the Azzurri jersey in that same stadium in front of the Genoese fans.”
