Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti says the Blucerchiati are unlikely to sell Manolo Gabbiadini in January.

Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti says the Blucerchiati are unlikely to sell Manolo Gabbiadini in January.

The forward has been linked with a move to Napoli given the Partenopei’s injury problems in attack, but the Samp director has played down such talk.

“There were talks with [Napoli sporting director Riccardo] Bigon, but they were because we have a  mutual friend who asked me for a Napoli shirt which Bigon gave me after the game,” Osti told Mars Live Sport.

“We don’t intend to weaken our team in January, unless an offer arrives which we can’t turn down.

“Not only that, the player is co-owned by Juventus.

“Would €14m be enough for him? I’m not going to talk about figures, you’d be better asking [Sampdoria President Massimo] Ferrero about that.”
