The Italian international has struck up a formidable understanding with the Argentinian international since arriving from Sampdoria in January, and discussed his strike partner with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

The Italian international has struck up a formidable understanding with the Argentinian international since arriving from Sampdoria in January, and discussed his strike partner with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“They say a lot of things about Gonzalo,” Gabbiadini began.

“We shouldn’t forget the number of decisive goals he scored. Pipita is untouchable, we must keep him here.

“He should take penalties, despite his misses over the last period.”

Gabbiadini had been co-owned by Sampdoria and Juventus when he made his move to the Partenopei, and insists they weren’t his second choice after the Bianconeri.

“Decisions are made by two parties, in January we made a decision together and I decided to come to Napoli.

“I’ve never worn the Juve shirt, and I don’t feel any affinity for it. I was the one who made this decision, and I’m glad I did.

“Not even I thought I’d start so well with Napoli, I think it was down to the Coach [Rafa Benitez last season], my teammates and the whole environment.”
