Matteo Gabbia has agreed to extend his contract with Milan, with the club working to lock down their young stars.

The 22-year-old Italian defender has recently broken into Stefano Pioli’s first team, starting in the last three matches, and he has impressed, looking talented and showing some of his potential. Although his current deal expires in 2024, the club want to further secure his future.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, in the last few days Paolo Maldini has reached a total agreement with Gabbia’s agent regarding a contract extension, which will expire in 2026. The Rossoneri are placing their trust in the 22-year-old Italian, who is a product of their youth system.

Cagliari are pushing to sign Gabbia on loan until the end of the season, but the Milanese club would only accept a deal should they sign a new defender in this month’s transfer window.

Milan are also planning to reward Pierre Kalulu and they’ve started first contacts with his entourage, looking to extend his deal by one year to 2026.

  1. Extending Gabbia and Kalulu’s contracts are great, but make it quick for Leao and Theo, too before it’s too late like Kessié.
