Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani insisted that Milan ‘will start from 0-0’ in the second leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie against Slavia Praha on Thursday evening, despite possessing a 4-2 advantage heading into the game.

Furlani has arrived in Czechia for the customary UEFA lunch before European knock-out matches. Milan will kick off against Slavia at the Fortuna Arena at 17.45 GMT.

The Rossoneri director gave a few brief answers to journalists waiting for his arrival outside the venue.

Furlani did not address the topic of the current investigation into Milan by the financial authorities in Italy, and instead solely focussed on Thursday evening’s match.

“Tonight is important, the Europa League is a competition that we have never won. We would like to try,” Furlani told reporters in Prague.

“We start from 4-2, but in our heads, we have to believe that we’re beginning from 0-0,” he added.

Though Milan have a two-goal lead heading into the return match against Slavia, the team made hard work of their first leg in San Siro, despite playing against 10 men from the 26th minute onwards.

Milan goals last Thursday came courtesy of Olivier Giroud, Tijjani Reijnders, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tijjani Reijnders.
