Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani confirms that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paulo Fonseca were ‘fundamental’ in convincing Alvaro Morata to join the Rossoneri, while the striker already uses red and black heart emojis on social media.

Morata passed medical examinations with Milan in Madrid this morning and said he “can’t wait” to play for the Rossoneri.

Milan will pay a €13m clause to sign him from Atletico Madrid, while Morata has signed a four-year deal before going on holiday with his family.

Milan CEO Furlani met Morata in Madrid and spoke to Sky Sport Italia after the striker’s signature.

“Alvaro has expressed his desire. Now, we have to complete the formalities,” said the Rossoneri director.

“He is a great champion, and by talking to him, you understand why he was named the captain of Spain. He is confident, but now he deserves to go on holiday.”

Ibrahimovic and Fonseca played a key role in the deal.

“Zlatan and Fonseca were fundamental to convincing him,” Furlani confirmed.

“Ibrahimovic knows what it means to be the Milan striker, and Fonseca explained how important he will be in the project.”

In the meantime, Morata has gone on holiday with his family and posted a message on Instagram using black and red heart emojis. Milan’s official account commented on the picture, suggesting they’ll soon announce the experienced forward as a new summer signing.
