According to La Repubblica, Roberto Mancini is growing frustrated as Italy coach, so Tottenham and PSG have emerged as options for the Azzurri CT who may leave before the end of his contract in 2026.

Mancini signed a contract extension with La Nazionale after the Euros almost two years ago but was unable to lead the Azzurri to World Cup qualification in 2021.

Repubblica highlights that after Sunday’s 2-0 win over Malta in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, Mancini openly blamed his players for the first time, saying that the Azzurri ‘could have done everything better.’

The 59-year-old has recently complained about his lack of options, especially in attack, admitting that he will be calling more Oriundi after Mateo Retegui, who scored two goals in his first two appearances with La Nazionale.

“The fairy tale between Roberto Mancini and the National Team, cracked but not broken by the World Cup failure, this time ended for real,” wrote La Repubblica correspondent Enrico Currò.

Even if Mancini has recently insisted that he wants to remain in charge until the end of his contract, Repubblica suggests that offers from top clubs across Europe could tempt him away from Italy, adding that the frustration in the Azzurri CT was evident after Sunday’s win against Malta.

Tottenham and PSG are said to be monitoring the situation and could choose the Italian if he decides to leave La Nazionale.

“Only the FIGC can help Mancini regain enthusiasm, urging players to show real attachment to the jersey, not only with words, and also inviting clubs not to be intrusive, affecting the national team.”

Antonio Conte, who has just departed from Tottenham, is seen as an option to replace Mancini, but at this stage, predicting Conte’s return at Coverciano is “imaginative and premature,” concludes La Repubblica.
