La Dea look to keep their strong start to the season going and these Frosinone vs. Atalanta predictions think that might just be the case. The newly promoted hosts lost their opener and will remain underdogs for this weekend’s fixture.
Frosinone vs. Atalanta odds
1 – Atalanta to win – 4/5
2 – De Ketelaere to score first – 5/1
3 – Giancluca Scamacca to score last – 5/1
4 – Under 2.5 goals scored – 8/7
5 – Atalanta to keep a clean sheet – 7/10
Frosinone look for their first win of their Serie A campaign but have a difficult second game in which the visitors are strong favourites. Atalanta looked well-organised in their 2-0 win over Sassuolo in their opener last weekend, despite plenty of new signings looking to settle in.
La Dea had a mixed campaign last season, often struggling to find the attacking flair that has become Gian Piero Gasperini’s trademark. Over the summer the Orobici have looked to rectify this by bringing in three new forwards in Charles De Ketelaere, Gianluca Scamacca and El-Bilal Toure.
This was achieved due to the sale of Rasmus Hojlund and rumours persist that Duvan Zapata could also be off before the transfer window comes to a close. De Ketelaere got his Atalanta career off to a great start against Sassuolo, scoring the opener from the bench and we back the Belgian to keep his form going against Frosinone.
Despite the influx of new blood, Gasperini started a familiar looking team against the Neroverdi, to similar effect. Uncharacteristically, last season the Orobici handled their offensive struggles by being highly defensively resilient. This was evident against Sassuolo who managed just three shots on target last weekend.
Unfortunately for Frosinone, this does not bode well for Saturday’s game, as their only shot on target against Napoli last weekend came from the penalty spot. The Canarini have not spent heavily over the summer and there are concerns that they will lack the firepower to compete with top-flight defences.
Unless Eusebio Di Francesco’s side put in a vastly different performance it is hard to see them breaking down a highly competent Atalanta back line. A wager on the visitors to keep a clean sheet, while sacrificing their all-out-attack approach for defensive resilience, could therefore likely pay off.

Frosinone team news
Eusebio Di Francesco is not expected to overreact following defeat to Napoli and will stick with a similar 4-3-3 line-up this weekend. With the Canarini struggling offensively, the coach may look to make changes up front with Gennaro Borelli looking for his first start since joining permanently from Pescara.
Atalanta team news
Gian Piero Gasperini has decisions to make with both of Atalanta’s goals coming from the bench against Sassuolo. Charles De Ketelaere may have earned himself a start, especially with Duvan Zapata linked with a move, whilst Nadir Zortea may have to stick with a spot on the bench, as Davide Zappacosta remains favourite to start.
