Frosinone President Maurizio Stirpe says he has no axe to grind with Lazio's Claudio Lotito, who opposed his team's promotion to Serie A.

President Lotito ended up in a massive football scandal over a phone-call to Pino Iodice, the sporting director of Ischia, last summer.

Among various compromising statements about the institutions of Italian football, the Biancocelesti patron said that some teams should not be allowed to join Serie A: “If Frosinone and Carpi make it into Serie A, who's going to buy the broadcasting rights?” he famously declared.

But Stirpe seems to have no grudge against Lotito.

“I'll greet him in a very friendly manner,” he told Il Messaggero. “That phone-call is water under the bridge and there's no sense in dwelling on it.

“Against Lazio we'll have our game, as we did against Juventus, and we'll do everything to take home at least one point.

“That point would be worth platinum in our campaign to avoid relegation.”
