Inter target Tomas Palacios with Independiente

Argentinean journalist César Luis Merlo reports that Independiente Rivadavia directors have travelled to Italy to meet Inter for Tomás Palacios.

Inter continue to push for Argentine talent Palacios, and according to reliable Argentinean journalist César Luis Merlo, representatives of Independiente Rivadavia, including sporting director Sebastián Peratta, travelled to Italy on Tuesday to meet the Nerazzurri directors.

From Argentina: imminent Inter meeting to sign Palacios

Palacios is under contract with Talleres, but he’s on loan at Independiente Rivadavia until December and his current club have an option to get 50% of the player’s rights.

According to Merlo, Inter’s offer for Palacios is between €6m and €7m.

The 21-year-old can play as a centre-back or as a left wing-back.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is pushing for a new signing in defence, given that Tajon Buchanan will remain out of action until December/January with a fractured tibia.

Inter were held to a 2-2 draw by Genoa on their 2024-25 Serie A debut on Saturday.
