Lazio came back from an early goal to defeat Galatasaray 2-1 in Turkey with Luis Alberto scoring one and creating another for Felipe Anderson.

This was the first of the December friendly tests, as the Biancocelesti won’t be back in competitive action until January 4.

Maurizio Sarri and his squad will be in Turkey on a training retreat until Saturday, facing Hatayspor on Friday.

Galatasaray took the lead within four minutes, as Juan Mata’s slide-rule pass allowed Baris Yilmaz to spring the offside trap and go clear on goal.

Ciro Immobile and Luis Alberto combined to set up Felipe Anderson for the equaliser in a well-worked move.

Pedro drilled wide and Immobile had penalty appeals waved away, but Galatasaray’s Kerem Akturkoglu was only denied by the upright with his cross-shot.

At the dawn of the second half, Luis Alberto turned it around completely, assisted by Mattia Zaccagni after a deflected Toma Basic effort.

Basic and Yusuf Demir forced saves and a scuffle broke out between Zaccagni and Patrick van Aanholt, showing this wasn’t a very friendly encounter.

Former Napoli star Dries Mertens came off the bench and tested Ivan Provedel, before Kazimcan Kataras hit the side-netting in stoppages.
