Genoa are celebrating another remarkable friendly win, as they beat Paulo Sousa’s Girondins de Bordeaux 3-2.

The Grifone have been very impressive in pre-season under new Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli and particularly against Ligue 1 opposition.

After the 4-3 win over Lyon and a 1-1 draw with Nantes, they also got the better of Bordeaux on their own turf.

Lukas Lerager intercepted a poor back-pass and sent Andrea Pinamonti clear on goal to open the scoring.

It was soon followed by a header from ex-Milan defender Cristian Zapata on Romulo’s corner.

The hosts fought back with Hwang Ui-Jo striking from the edge of the box and after the break Nicolas De Preville completed the comeback with a powerful angled drive.

Antonio Sanabria thought he’d won it, only to be kept out by a goal-line clearance.

However, Genoa had one more sting in the tail with Antonio Barreca bursting down the left and putting in the cross for Oscar Hiljemark’s winner.

Andreazzoli’s men have now won five of their pre-season friendlies and drawn the other.
