Fiorentina have beaten Montpellier 2-1 in a pre-season friendly thanks to goals from Jonathan Ikone and Alessandro Bianco.

The preparations continue for the team under new coach Raffaele Palladino, still adapting to a radical change of system to 3-4-2-1.

There were plenty of chances with saves on Issoufou, Alessandro Parisi, Ikone, Riccardo Sottil and Moise Kean.

Ikone is a former Montpellier player and he opened the scoring just before half-time by cheekily redirecting a Luca Ranieri effort with his heel.

Kean had several opportunities, including a header that came off the crossbar, but Montpellier equalised with Tamari volleying in a well-worked corner kick.

Substitute Bianco restored the Viola advantage with a strike from outside the box that took a deflection off Sagna.

Former Juventus striker Kean continued to test the goalkeeper from promising positions or balloon over the bar.
