According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma owner Dan Friedkin is not planning to sell the Giallorossi despite rumours of interest from Saudi investors.

Il Corriere dello Sport reported on Monday that a group of Saudi investors led by Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri was ready to open talks with Roma owners over a potential acquisition of a majority stake in the club.

However, Gazzetta clarifies that Roma owners do not even want to listen to offers for the club and are determined to remain at the helm.

The report details that the Friedkins are eager to invest more money in the Giallorossi and have never planned to acquire the club to make ‘easy money’ by selling it after a few years.

Therefore, they are unwilling to sell the club or a minority stake. According to Gazzetta, the club owners want to build a solid bond with the city and develop the club, starting with plans for a new stadium.

The Friedkins acquired Roma from James Pallotta in 2020 and have already invested more than €700m in the club.
