Chievo released a statement this evening confirming he had been released from the hospital and will continue to have further check-ups with the club medical staff over the next few days.

Chievo thanked the emergency services and Juventus medic Fabrizio Tencone, who assisted Frey from the moment of impact.

He is the younger brother of ex-Fiorentina and Parma goalkeeper Sebastien Frey, who posted a picture of his sibling’s nasty head wound.

“Despite the trauma, my brother is out of the hospital with a nice scar!”
