Frey has won comparisons with Buffon in the past, but Silvano Martina, himself a former Genoa goalkeeper, doesn’t believe they are accurate.
“With all due respect to Frey who is an excellent goalkeeper, the difference between him and Buffon is substantial,” Martina told Tutto Juve.
“Buffon is out of the ordinary.
“There is the same difference between Buffon and Frey as there was between myself and Dino Zoff when I played the game…”
Frey has been in excellent form so far this season following his summer transfer from Serie A rivals Fiorentina.
