Agents representing free agent Mario Hermoso are reportedly in Italy, as after talks with Napoli broke down, they are now discussing his situation with Inter and Milan.

According to DAZN transfer reporter Orazio Accomando, the representatives of the central defender landed in Milan this week and have been holding a series of meetings.

Both Inter and Milan are in the market for a defender, especially if he comes with zero transfer fee on top of the wages.

The 29-year-old is a free agent after his contract with Atletico Madrid was allowed to run down and had been on the verge of a move to Napoli until those talks definitively broke down, reportedly over a signing on fee.

Roma, Bologna and Juventus were all linked, but decided not to pursue the matter further.

The biggest competition now comes from Al-Shabab FC in the Saudi Pro League, but the Spain international would prefer to remain in Europe.

Both Inter and Milan are in the Champions League and Hermoso’s ability to play at left-back is another added bonus for his potential arrival.
