Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi is determined to lock down a return to his boyhood club Roma, even prepared to cut his summer vacation.

The two clubs continue negotiations for the deal, which should be made easier by the fact the Giallorossi sold him to Sassuolo for €5m in 2017 with a clause giving them a 30 per cent cut of any sell-on fee.

They are expected to finalise the details for €15m plus a youth team player in part-exchange, possibly Cristian Volpato or Felix Afena-Gyan.

Meanwhile, the Corriere dello Sport newspaper claims Frattesi is so determined to make this work that he is prepared to cut back his summer vacation in order to start pre-season training with Jose Mourinho on July 4.

The 22-year-old would’ve been allowed more time off, as he played for Italy in the Nations League matches this month.

Frattesi earned his senior Italy debut after a strong campaign for Sassuolo, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 36 games.
