Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi admits his friend Gianluca Scamacca could leave West Ham this summer adding that he’d be ‘glad’ if they end up playing together.

Frattesi spoke to Il Corriere della Sera in an interview published on Thursday’s printed edition of the newspaper before his first goal for the Nerazzurri in a 1-1 draw against Al-Nassr in Japan.

Frattesi’s closest friend in football Scamacca, who already played with him in Lazio and Roma‘s youth sectors, has been linked with leaving West Ham this summer and Frattesi confirmed he may be on his way out of the Hammers.

“I know the situation and I preferred not to be among the people asking him where he would go,” he said.

“Of course, I’d be glad if we end up playing together.”

Inter are monitoring the Italy international and have the financial resources to outbid Roma, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Frattesi received several offers this summer but decided to join Inter long ago.

“I am convinced this is the right project for me. I had already spoken to my Italy teammates and I had decided one and a half years ago,” he revealed.

“I did for many things, ambition, system and a coach I knew already.”

Frattesi has joined Inter from Sassuolo on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy. Speaking about the Neroverdi, he said: “They give you time to make mistakes without pressure. They’ve always had great coaches for young players. Roberto De Zerbi was outstanding and Alessio Dionisi will be the same. I thank director Giovanni Carnevali who kept his word.

Frattesi added that Cristiano Ronaldo is his idol “because he’s an example of how to get to the top through sacrifice” and revealed his reaction when he loses games: “When it happens, I turn off the phone and speak to nobody.”
