Despite injury concerns, Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan is expected to start for France in a friendly against Chile with Theo Hernandez and possibly Olivier Giroud.

The Rossoneri will be hoping that most of their star men will be largely rested during the break for international duty, as Les Bleus gear up for the Euro 2024 tournament this summer.

However, following an embarrassing 2-0 home defeat to Germany, Didier Deschamps is set to make changes for the next friendly match against Chile on Tuesday evening.

According to the latest reports from L’Equipe, that includes Maignan in goal, despite the fact he did not train for several days this week due to muscular problems.

His Milan teammate Theo Hernandez is tipped to start for the second match running too, while Giroud could go from substitute to first-choice centre-forward in place of Inter striker Marcus Thuram.

The performances of Thuram at international level and in the Champions League Round of 16 for Inter against Atletico Madrid have raised serious doubts in France as to whether he can play as a centre-forward.

Giroud remains their first choice upfront, which is a concern considering he is 37 years old.
