Adrien Rabiot commented on the importance of his Serie A experience and if he plans to sign a new deal with Juventus after the World Cup in Qatar.

The injuries to Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante have made the 27-year-old Frenchman a key player for Didier Deschamps and France at this World Cup, and he certainly didn’t disappoint in their opener against Australia. Rabiot scored the equaliser and provided the assist for Olivier Giroud’s first goal in Les Bleus’ 4-1 win, giving his nation the perfect start at the tournament.

Speaking to La Repubblica, Rabiot first discussed how his experiences in Serie A have helped him perform on the world stage.

“The experience in Serie A has served me well, I can’t speak for Theo and Giroud, I speak for myself. It’s been very useful because with your attention to tactics I’ve learnt a lot of things and I’m putting them into practice.

“In midfield we suffered major absences but we showed that you can’t underestimate us, we also have potential and quality.”

He commented on any possible similarities between Deschamps and Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri.

“They don’t have something in common on the pitch. In the management of men maybe yes.”

Finally, Rabiot discussed his future and if he plans to stay with Juventus.

“If I’ll stay with Juve? I don’t know yet and it’s not the moment to talk about it. No doubt these performances help me to go elsewhere, but also to talk to Juve. But now my focus is on the World Cup.”

The 27-year-old Rabiot has been one of the better players in Allegri’s Juventus squad this season, scoring five goals and providing two assists in 16 appearances across Serie A and the Champions League.
