According to reports in Italy, France Football apologised to Paolo Rossi’s family after forgetting to honour the Italian legend during the Ballon d’Or ceremony.

The organisers failed to include the World Cup and Ballon d’Or winner in the Memoriam segment dedicated to the football legends who died over the last 12 months.

“We don’t want to get into this sort of controversy, anything I say would be twisted. We cannot read every aspect of the ceremony in a controversial way,” France Football chief Pascal Ferré told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“If needs be, I will speak directly to the family of Paolo Rossi.”

According to Calciomercato.com, France Football apologised to Paolo Rossi’s wife Federica Cappelletti on Wednesday, promising to make up for it with another ceremony in January.

  1. Not to be krass but if and when you do speak directly to this nice human being’s family, they should send you back.

Pristine example of bias on Italy.

  2. All of Uefa and fifa hates Italy no secret. Not sure why journalist dont see it and write about it so biased. sepp blatter illustrated best when we won 2006 wc and he wad not present to award italy with trophy. Nuff said.
