Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi is in the France squad to face Iceland and Turkey, but not his club teammate Adrien Rabiot.

Coach Didier Deschamps named the side that will take on Iceland on Friday October 11 and host Turkey on Monday October 14 in their Euro 2020 qualifiers.

There is only one Serie A based player and it is veteran midfielder Matuidi, who seems to have found a new lease of life under Maurizio Sarri in Turin.

However, Rabiot’s exclusion will only fuel his frustration at the lack of playing time since moving to Juventus as a free agent from Paris Saint-Germain.

France squad: Areola, Lloris, Mandanda; Digne, Dubois, Lucas Hernandez, Kimpembe, Lenglet, Pavard, Varane, Zouma; Kante, Matuidi, Ndombele, Sissoko, Tolisso; Ben Yedder, Coman, Giroud, Griezmann, Ikone, Lemar, Mbappe
