Sergio ‘Bobo’ Gori has died aged 77 after a two-week spell in hospital in Sesto San Giovanni in his home city of Milan

In his playing career in Serie A, Gori won the Scudetto four times with Inter, Cagliari and Juventus and is only one of six players in history to have won the league with three different clubs in Italy.

During his first stint with Inter, Gori was also part of the squad that won the European Cup and Intercontinental Cup in 1965, adding to the two consecutive league titles in 1965 and 1966.

However, Gori is best remembered for his six-year spell with Cagliari, during which he scored 33 league goals from 166 appearances and lifted the only league title in the club’s history in 1969-70.

After Cagliari, Gori spent two seasons in Turin with Juventus, where he added a fourth Serie A title to his CV, as well as winning the UEFA Cup during the 1976-77 season.

Gori won three caps for the Italy national team and was also part of the squad that finished runners up in the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.
