Head coach Zlatko Dalic has announced Croatia’s 26-man squad list for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, including four players plying their trade in Serie A.

Serie A will take a six-week break for the World Cup, pausing from November 14 to January 4, when action kicks back off again. The break will allow many Italian sides to recover various injured players, setting up an interesting second half of the season. Other teams will be concerned about the condition of their stars competing at the tournament in Qatar. 

Dalic announced his 26-man Croatia squad for the World Cup in Qatar, including Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic, Sassuolo’s Martin Erlic, Atalanta’s Mario Pasalic and Torino’s Nikola Vlasic. One notable exclusion was Milan’s Ante Rebic, who hasn’t made an appearance for the national team since Euro 2020. 

Other absences include Lecce’s Marin Pongracic, Southampton’s Duje Caleta-Car, Wolfsburg’s Josip Brekalo and Rangers’ Antonio Colak.

Goalkeepers: Livakovic (Dinamo Zagreb), Ivusic (Osijek), Grbic (Atletico Madrid).

Defenders: Vida (AEK), Lovren (Zenit), Barisic (Rangers), Juranovic (Celtic), Gvardiol (Leipzig), Sosa (Stuttgart), Stanisic (Bayern), Erlic (Sassuolo), J. Sutalo (Dinamo).

Midfielders: Modric (Real Madrid), Kovacic (Chelsea), Brozovic (Inter), Pasalic (Atalanta), Vlasic (Torino), Majer (Rennes), Jakic (Eintracht), Sucic (Salzburg).

Forwards: Perisic (Tottenham), Kramaric (Hoffenheim), Petkovic (Dinamo Zagreb), Orsic (Dinamo Zagreb), Budimir (Osasuna), Livaja (Hajduk).
