Even if Juventus are not considering sacking Max Allegri, pressure is mounting on the Tuscan tactician who must solve four problems to end the Bianconeri’s crisis.

The Bianconeri have only collected two wins in eight games across all competitions this term, losing both their opening Champions League group stage fixtures for the first time in history.

The hashtag #Allegriout has been trending on Twitter for more than 24 hours, with Juventus fans demanding his immediate sacking. However, the Bianconeri are not considering parting company with their boss, also due to financial reasons.

According to Gazzetta, Allegri met club directors yesterday. It was not an ’emergency meeting’ but a regular summit which always takes place after defeats.

Club directors expect different results in the coming weeks, but Allegri must deal with five major issues, which La Gazzetta dello Sport has listed:

Players’ fitness

Juventus players look exhausted in every match. They seem in good shape for some 20-25 minutes, but then any other opponent manages to outrun Allegri’s boys. It has happened in every game Juventus have played so far and it’s a worrying situation considering that the season has just begun.

Mental fragility

Leonardo Bonucci and Danilo recently suggested that players must take a step forward in terms of mentality. When Juventus go ahead, they are unable to keep the lead, when they go down, they struggle to recover.

Injuries

Allegri has several players on the treatment table. The most notable ones are Paul Pogba and Federico Chiesa, who may not be back until 2023. Angel Di Maria has also failed to play consistently, having only collected four appearances (179 minutes) across all competitions. Aside from Gleison Bremer, Leandro Paredes and Arek Milik, Allegri has been using the same line-up as last season as the most relevant signings are still not fit. Manuel Locatelli and Adrien Rabiot have missed the last couple of games due to muscle injuries that have been affecting the Old Lady over the last year.

Poor playing style

This is a priority for Allegri and the reason why he was also criticised during his winning first spell at the club when he managed to lift 11 trophies in five years. Juventus look ‘confused’ and without identity. Benfica knew exactly what to do at the Allianz Stadium while the Bianconeri were lost.

  1. The issue is, at which point would you sack him though? Next week is the international break so players won’t be around to train with a new manager and then they have games every 3 or 4 days up until the world cup so won’t get many training sessions. So maybe they’ll let him go in November

  2. They say they might not be able to afford to sack him, but surely missing the top 4 for next season will cost them more than his big salary?

He’s so negative now and there’s no plan at all it seems.

  3. You guys are delusional if you think Lord Hexagon will leave or get sacked! He is comfortably sitting on a 9M/year contract until 2025.

Stay tuned for more “coma calcio” 😀

  4. PhD Max is the only problem or at the least the Hiroshima bomb to modern calcio.
