Atalanta midfielder Marten de Roon has been given a four-match ban and a €10,000 fine after the sending off against Milan on Sunday.

The Disciplinary Commission has sanctioned the Dutch midfielder for ‘misconduct towards an opponent’, after the 30-year-old's livid reaction when the Rossoneri were awarded the second penalty of the match.

The report claims De Roon ‘hit the back of the head of an opponent and slightly pushed the referee’ in stoppages of the final game of the season.

The Holland international, who has played 35 times in Serie A this term, will thus miss the four first games in 2021-22.
