Reports on Friday morning note that four arrests were made during clashes between fans and police prior to Roma’s visit from Slavia Prague in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

According to reports from Tuttosport, four Slavia Prague ultras were arrested before arriving at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday after physical altercations broke out between fans and local police.

Three police officers were reportedly injured as a result of attacks from the visiting cohort of supporters.

As per Tuttosport, the incidents occurred on Via Cavour in the centre of Rome while being escorted by the police to the Stadio Olimpico.

Some tensions also continued in the stadium, as some match-goers managed to break through a security cordon before heading towards the Curva Nord. Projectiles were then launched from both sets of supporters.

Slavia Ultras had also been left disappointed by the banning of their pre-match choreography. The fans had planned to unfurl a tifo reading: “Ave Slavia,” a reference to Julius Caesar, although this was stopped for fear of provocation.

Roma ultras later released a statement informing authorities that no offence would have been taken by the proposed banner.
