Rino Foschi will step down as Palermo sporting director, officially for health reasons.

President Maurizio Zamparini has publicly criticised the director, and still believes the transfer market may be behind his decision.

“Foschi has told me that he wants to leave,” Zamparini confirmed to La Repubblica.

“It’s a question of his health, but I think the decision has something to do with the market operations conducted so far.”

Foschi also commented on the issue, and expressed his regret at leaving the Rosanero in an interview with ANSA.

“I’m not well, and I couldn’t give my best for Palermo. I’m very sorry, there’s nothing official yet, in truth we’re evaluating but I don’t feel like going on.

“I know the President will find someone else who will do well. I’m very sorry to leave this club, it’s very sad for me but I have a difficult situation.”
