Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, former Juventus director and ex-chairman of Fiat, has slammed the links tying the Bianconeri with a move for former Inter striker Romelu Lukaku.

The 75-year-old claimed that Lukaku was partly responsible for Inter’s loss in the Champions League final against Manchester City in Istanbul back in June and because of the Belgian’s history with the Nerazzurri, he would not be welcome in Turin.

“The ex Inter to Juventus? I wouldn’t even want him in the picture, he even made Inter lose the Champions League,” Montezemolo told Quotidiano Nazionale in a recent interview.

Large sections of the Juventus supporter base have also made their feelings towards Lukaku clear in recent days.

On Wednesday, fans who had gathered outside the club’s medical facility unfurled a banner reading: “we already have a second goalkeeper,” before thousands of supporters inside the Allianz Stadium took part in chants of “we don’t want Lukaku.”
